Frequently Asked Questions
We're happy to answer your questions about both short-term rehabilitation care and our long-term care and living services. We also welcome you to tour our center anytime. It's important to remember you have a choice for therapy and rehabilitation care, and we invite you to consider Clinton Therapy & Living Center for your post-surgical, illness, or injury recovery.
What is short-term rehab?
Also known as skilled rehabilitation or post-acute care, short-term rehabilitation is designed to help you recover faster after a hospital stay so you won’t require a repeat hospital stay or because you are unable to safely assume life at home. At Clinton Therapy & Living Center, you would have onsite therapy one or more times a day for physical, occupational or speech, depending on what your personal doctor prescribes. Our therapy team will be in regular contact with you, your family and doctor(s) during your stay.
Are Medicare, Medicaid or other payments accepted for short-term rehab?
Typically, Medicare coverage is provided for rehabilitation following an eligible hospital stay. Those without Medicare may find their stays are covered by managed care or private insurance. At Clinton Therapy & Living Center, we accept most private insurance plans, Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid, Managed Care Plans, Long Term Care Insurance Policies, private pay, worker's comp, and commercial insurance.
Do you provide transportation from the hospital?
We accept patients 24/7 at Clinton Therapy & Living Center and are happy to schedule transportation from the surrounding Western Oklahoma region. We frequently admit patients from Alliance Health in Clinton and Cordell Memorial in Cordell, OK.
How long does short-term rehabilitation last?
The length of stay for rehabilitation depends on why you’re receiving care. Some patients recovering from a knee replacement may need only a week or so of therapy, while those recovering from a stroke may need more time. At Clinton Therapy and Living Center, we will do our best to ensure medical care is provided no longer than needed to ensure a positive outcome for you.
Is Clinton Therapy & Living Center a nursing home?
At Clinton Therapy & Living Center, we serve long-term care residents in a clean, friendly, and safe environment, but we also have a dedicated wing for Short-Term Rehabilitation. We offer private and semi-private rooms, all occupational, speech and physical therapy on site in our therapy gym, and you can rest knowing there are skilled nurses on site 24-hours a day if assistance is needed. We offer private in-room dining or you can join other residents in our beautiful dining room. With an inviting courtyard, recreation room, and multiple lounge areas, you're sure to be comfortable while you recover from your illness, injury or surgery.
